This month was on November 17th (Tuesday) at the Santiburi Golf Course in Chiang Rai. The Tee off time was 10:00 am. The price was Baht 1.100 including Caddy.
Originally, 32 players were signed up including 2 mystery guests. Unfortunately, after searching high and lo for them right up to tee time, it became apparent that they were going to remain a mystery.
It was a beautiful day so it was decided to play the ball down but after a couple of holes it was evident that the Singh Corporation has ample resources to apply water to the course and lift clean and place would have been the call but hindsight as they say is 20/20.
5 players found the conditions to their liking as Ralph Hamilton and Peter Haddon tied for 4th place with 37 points.
The other 3 tied for the top spot with 38 points and they were, Barry Ochitwa, Nee Ongsakul and Jomo MacDermott.
Well done and apologies for the late report. Chiang Rai can have a strange effect on some of us from the fine cuisine at 71 Celcius to the 5 star accommodations at the Jepsom House etal.
Looking forward to next years’ visit to Santiburi already.
