The Chiang Mai Social Golfers and the Sanuk Sabai Social Golfers organizations are pleased to announce the inaugural “Northern Thailand Golf Challenge” which will be held at the Santiburi golf course in Chiang Rai, Thailand. This will be a (3) day tournament commencing on November 25, 2014 thru to November 27, 2014.
This event will be open to any Golfer who currently has an established handicap from any recognized golf society. In order for females to participate, we have to have a minimum of 12 female players registered before the closing date.
The closing date for registering will be November 10, 2014. Please note that the maximum allowed handicap will be (32) subsequently those players with higher established handicaps will be lowered to the (32) threshold. The competition will be similar to the Ryder Cup format with (2) teams being selected by a random draw comprising of (3) handicap categories (A – (Hdcp 1 – 9), B (10 – 19), C – (20 – 32)).
A registration fee of 500 baht must be submitted, complete with registration form, to the organizing committee prior to November 10th.
Tournament Green Fees: 3,790 Baht (3-days of golf including Caddy Fee) – 600 Baht golf cart fee per day – paid by the player directly to the Santiburi Golf Course.

Monday evening: (November 24, 2014) General Welcoming /Opening
- 19:00 (7:00 PM) Wang Come Hotel lobby (Chiang Rai)
- Social get-together and meeting and renewing friendships
- Review of Tournament Venue
- Announcement of Day 1 teams (Texas Scramble)
Attendance of all players is encouraged to make this a most successful event
Misc:
- Each days team line up and tee-off times will be posted in the Wang Come lobby the evening prior to the next day’s event
- All questions relative to rules and events should be addressed to the Team Captains
- On each golfing day all players should assemble in front of the Wang Come hotel (with their respective vehicles) no later than 7:45 AM to drive to the Santiburi golf course.
All members must check in with Frank Schwarz and/or Sherman Miles at the Santiburi club house by 8:30 am at the latest to receive players score card for the day.
Tuesday: (November 25, 2014) – 4 man Scramble (mixed teams)
- First group tee-off at 10:00 am.
Daily team results and prize presentations will be made during lunch at the course club house
Wednesday: (November 26, 2014) – 2 man Best Ball Match Play (four Ball)
- First group tee-off at 09:00 am.
Daily team results and prize presentations will be made during lunch at the course club house
Thursday: (November 27, 2014) – Singles Match Play
- First group tee-off at 09:00 am.
Note: Return your Score Card to Frank Schwarz or Sherman Miles after the round. The prize presentation will be at the Course after approx. 1 hour after the last group finished.
On each day Failure to be on the Tee at your assigned Tee Time could result in a forfeit for your team.
