Regular Events Calendar

June 2026

N.B. some events may change formats on the day depending on the number of players at the start of play. Captain’s decision is final.

Please always arrange to sign in with the captain, at least 30 minutes before first tee time. This time is required for captains to look up handicaps and to sort out groups/pairings.

Mondays

Lanna

The cost at Lanna from March will be B1350 with a cart and B1000 walking.  If you would like to play in the Monday morning group please inform Ian Rogers.

We start play at 8.00am & finish around noon for anyone wishing to join us.  The rates mentioned will possibly reduce at the end of March but no promises.

We generally play Courses 1 & 2 but play Courses 1 & 3 on the last Monday of each month.

Tuesdays

Highlands

During the low season (April – October) there will be a stableford competition at Highlands every last Tuesday of the month starting at 9.00 a.m. Although this is not an official CMSG event, it is run by two of our members and CMSG handicaps are valid for the event. Many of our members play in this. The cost is 1600 baht for green fee, caddie and cart plus 200 baht for prizes

The next competition will be on Tuesday June 30th – 9.00 a.m.

If you wish to participate please contact Julian Wing on julianjameswing@outlook.com who will then pass the details on. As we often have a mini shotgun start it is necessary for you to advise us beforehand and not just show up on the day, as groupings and tee starts need to be allocated immediately.

Wednesdays

Hariphunchai Golf Club

The cost at Hariphunchai during the low season for the CMSG group will be 1000 baht for green fee, caddie and cart. Please note that this is a special rate and this concession can be removed at any time. Players should check in by 07:30, if players are running late please inform the Captain.

Model Local Rule E-5 (MLR E-5) is a USGA/R&A rule that provides an alternative to stroke-and-distance relief for a lost ball or a ball out of bounds (OB). [1, 2, 3]
Key Aspects of MLR E-5:
  • Purpose: To improve pace of play by allowing golfers to drop a ball near where it was lost rather than returning to the previous spot.
  • Penalty: Two strokes.
  • When It Applies: When a ball is lost outside a penalty area or known/virtually certain to be out of bounds.
  • How to Take Relief (2+2 Rule):
      1. Estimate the Spot: Estimate where the ball is lost or crossed the boundary (Point A).
      2. Find the Fairway Point: Find the nearest edge of the fairway to Point A that is not closer to the hole (Point B).
      3. Drop Zone: Drop a ball in the area between Point A and the edge of the fairway, up to two club lengths into the fairway or rough.

  • Restrictions:
    • Cannot be used for an unplayable ball.
    • Cannot be used if a provisional ball was played.
