Mae Jo, 30.12.15

Stableford Nassau

22 members came out to Mae Jo for the last round of 2015 and we finally experienced a high season 4.5 hr+ loop. Oh well, surely more of that to come in early 2016.

#2 fell to 2 golfers, Jeff Crosthwaite and new member, Dennis Beaudin, but both of them chose to forego the caddy shack afterwards so the prize will roll over for January’s birdie hole ( see weekly events calendar later this week for details).

Dennis, you got to drop by the shack on your way home. You also won the front nine with 18 points but the prizes then went to Adam Jackson and Harry Nieuwland with 17 points each. Both send you their warmest regards!

Taking the back nine with a strong 22 points was Steve Bjorge and winning the overall was Frank Schwarz with a solid 38 points.

Happy New Year to ALL and see many of you Friday @ North Hill for the 1st annual Hangover Stableford which is now a 10:00 a.m. start.

No photos of today’s winners so our own handicapper, Harry, has left us with below photo instead. Much nicer that any of our mugs, don’t you think?

Cheers!

Lanna, 28.12.15

Another small group of LOYAL Lanna golfers where out on the course this morning for  Stableford competition and a closet to hole competition on hole number 10 as well. Numbers were down only because of some of our golfers were sick and some were out of town for the holidays.   Scoring wasn’t to bad today Kim Stogner manage to get 30 points to take third place. Julian Wing did better at 36 points to take second place. The golfer of the day was Peter Brown who was closet to the hole on number 10 only because he was the only golf to stay on the green or should I say got on to the green. For that he got a tin of cookies, no whiskey this year, sorry Peter. By the way Peter also took first place with 37 points. Congratulation to our winners.

Next week at Lanna it’ll be stroke play since it’s the first Monday of the month and that means course we will be on that dreaded race track course and course number one as well. So come on out and test your gold skills at stroke competition. For you that worry about money so much I was told today that the price for the golfers. That’s what they call (CMSG) at Lanna will stay at 850 THB.  That’s what I was told and lets hope it is true.

This guy hits the ball perfectly out of the water in a water-hazard.

Questions

  • Who is the guy?
  • Is he allowed to move the branch, the movable plastic pipe, both or none being in the water-hazard?
  • Which hole is this on MaeJo?

CHRISTMAS STABLEFORD

26/12/15

A hardy 18 members came out for a Christmas morning stableford comp at Mae Jo and under mostly cloudy skies we completed play in just about 4 hours despite all groups going off #1.

The birdie hole (#2) survived again so come on out next Wednesday for the month’s last shot to take the prize.

Scoring was below par, pardon the pun, and finishing in 3rd place alone with 32 points was Nigel Stubbs (with a little help from Dr.Bjorge who had 33 points but failed to join us at the shack).

Taking 2nd place alone with 33 points, again benefiting from the Dr.’s absence, was Ric Cameron.

And placing 1st with no help from anyone but himself was Craig Morris with 35 points and no HI movement. Well done, Craig!

Enjoy the rest of your Christmas week end and hope to see you all Wednesday for a stableford nassau.

** ALSO DON’T FORGET NO PLAY ON 1 JANUARY @ MAE JO AS WE ARE AT NORTH HILL FOR THE NEW YEAR’S HANGOVER STABLEFORD @10:30 A.M. SLOTS(SLUTS) STILL AVAILABLE**

2 MAN BEST BALL STABLEFORD

24/12/15

18 members came out yesterday for what could become our only non comp event in the near future (see motions pending for the AGM).

And only 15 could compete as 3 new members, Dennis, Jan and Andy Galwey are still establishing their respective handicaps with us. Welcome, gentlemen!

#2 survived w/out a birdie so pot will double for Friday’s Christmas Stableford.

The top team by a fair margin of 4 points was Frank Schwarz and our own secretary/treasurer, Rob Grootenjuiis, with 45 points.

See some of you tomorrow morning but want to wish ALL CMSG members worldwide a very MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Cheers.

Lanna, 21.12.15

Another good group of golfer were out at Lanna this morning. The weather was perfect for golfing cool in the morning and warming up as the morning past on. Competition for the day Stableford Nassau and once again Lanna proved that it’s not the easiest golf courses to play even in the good shape that it is in.  We had a try on the front nine at 18 points between Keith Taylor, Stuart Duncan and Jack Kuzina. After working all the way through the count back system Jack came out on top to take the front nine. The back nine was a little easier with Allen Norris taking it all alone with just 16 points. The overall points for the 18 holes went to Gary Burke who manage to get 34 points. Congratulation to our winners. Next week at Lanna it’ll be back to plane old Stableford Competition with a closet to hole on 10 and I wont say what the prize will be.

From the Lanna Captain and the Lanna group we wish every one a MERRY CHRISTMAS. Happy New Years can went until next week.

STABLEFORD

16 members came out post Gold Canyon. It was a perfect day as the sun never made an appearance and with the exception of a lone single golfer wending his way thru our foursomes it could not have been better.

#2 fell again this Friday to the precise iron play of Jimmy Catterson. Pot will restart next Wednesday.

Some good scoring was recorded also and coming in 3rd today with 35 points was Nigel Stubbs.

Finishing 2nd with an even round of 36 points was Ken Nalder and sneaking up on all of us with 22 points on the back side and a total of 39 points was today’s winner, Steve Bjorge.

Congrats to all and have a great week end and enjoy the Mae Jo member’s tourney if you are participating this year.

Mae Jo, 16.12.15

INDIVIDUAL NET STROKE PLAY

With a total of 19 players showing at the early hours we teed off on time and everyone made it in less 4 hours around the Golf Course. We want to welcome 2 new members, Dennis Beaudoin and Jan Jumelet.

Todays format was stroke play and we had 2 members breaking net par.

With a net 69 and in 2nd place was Adam Jackson who is posting his second good round after a Gross 70 with the Maejo Expat’s on Monday.

Todays Winner with a great net of 66 was Yung Beece who in turn dropped 2 strokes of his CH at Mae Jo.

Congratulation to todays Winner’s. See you tomorrow at Gold Canyon.

Lanna, 14.12.15

Another small group at Lanna this morning but that was okay those that showed up for the Stableford Competition had fun. The morning weather was cool but give way to a nice warm morning.  Before I get into the scoring of todays golf game I want to let everyone know that the Lanna Monday sports day prices will continue until the end of December and that is 850  THB for 18 holes of golf and caddy so see you all next Monday. Now back to the scoring which wasn’t all that good for most of the golfers.  Allen Norris came in third with just 28 points. Mark Morris held on the first place with 33 points until the last foursome came in moving him back to second place. Kim Stogner was the golfer of the day coming in with 35 points to take first place. Congratulations to our winners.

Next Monday at Lanna it’ll be Stableford Nassau Competition.

Part 3 in the Ghostwriter’s series.

The ghostwriter has been fired suffice it to say, however, true justice would be served if the CMSG would fire the bum who hired him in the 1st place.

Don’t forget, the AGM is next month at Gymkana. The Donald needs every pissed off voter he can fool! No vote, no voice!

Enough of the political stream of consciousness. Back to the 3rd piece of our installment.

After Wednesday’s dismal showing by the CMSG, I am happy to report that a much higher level of golf was displayed in Friday’s stableford comp.

#2 was conquered by Kuzie. Pot will restart this Wednesday.

Taking 3rd place with a strong 38 points was recent returnee, Jeff Crosthwaite.

Finishing in 2nd place with a score that on most days would lap the field was Tom Rowand with 40 points.

The big winner was Gordon Langtry with 42 points and a new 18.2 HI, Enjoy them both, Gordo!

That’s it for the ghostwriter saga for now, Join Frank on Wednesday for individual net stroke play.

Captain Donald signing off from Nakhon Thai!

Cheers!

Part 2 in the ghostwriter’s series. He should have shown up because this round had to be titled ” Bargain Basement Wednesday” as the cheapest POY points to date were gobbled up by some serious point shoppers.

Firstly, no one birdied #2.

As the day’s format was nassau, someone had to win and the following occurred:

Taking the front nine with a ho hum 18 points was Stuart Duncan.

Winning the back with the only positive score of the day was Chris (Can Do) Kendall with 19 points.

And the day’s biggest POY shopper with a barely credible 32 points was El Presidente himself.

Shame on all 20 golfers who came out today. Had to be a record low median score.

See part 3 for a better report.

Match Play vs. Course (Net)

14/12/15

I guess the ghostwriter I hired didn’t bother to write the post after all, so here goes. 20 members came out to Mae Jo on the date referenced above for a crack at Old Man Par under as I remember mostly pleasant conditions.

3 of the 20 either beat or tied the old guy and they were:

Jack Kuzina who took 3rd place with a round of even.

Frank Schwarz alone in 2nd place with +2.

And at +5 with 5 holes remaining and hanging on for 1st place with +3, Michael ( Kuzie) Kuzmich.

Hope everyone had a good week end last week and has anyone seen this guy I hired?

 Winners 05.12.15

Mae Jo, 02.12.15

Stableford

18 members and 2 guests came out for the first O’ Dark thirty tee time of the high season and wouldn’t you know it we finished only 20 minutes earlier than our low season tee time! You guys just play too fast according to the starters committee at Mae Jo.

Crossover hell again! Welcome to High Season. Just have to grin and bear it!

So, getting back to the day’s comp. Nigel Stubbs made it 2 in a row as he birdied this month’s hole (#2). He was the last to birdie  last months as well. Prize will restart this Friday.

Scoring overall was average as Kenny Jones and myself came in with 35 points tying for 2nd place.

Taking 1st place with 37 points was  today’s birdie boy and Frank’s boy, Silvan with 37 points.

Congratulations to all today’s winners and see you agin at the ungodly hour of 7:04 for match play (net) vs. par.

Cheers!

The new appointed representative abroad of the CMSG on his first mission!!

Lanna, 30.11.15

On a very nice it was good to see some Mai Je morning at Lanna 20 golfers were on hand to take on a fun game of Stableford Competition. The weather was cool in the morning but warmed up later. As always it was good to see some Mai Jo golfers with us today. I guess they came down to see if Lanna was real as hard as they have heard and one of them found Lanna not to be hard at all to sore on. Julian Wing who we hadn’t seen for a while took third place with 34 points. Lawrence Nahik who always seems to be hanging around the top took second place with 36 points. I know from time to time we have some really high points at Lanna but I can’t remember any one scoring 50 points before. That’s right 50 points and that someone was Soren Nielsen and need I say he took first place. Congratulation to our winners.

There will be no golf at Lanna on the 7th of December because it’s a Thai holiday. We’ll be back at Lanna on the 14th of December which just might be the last of the Spots Days at Lanna for a while so they say.  Stating on the 16th of December and going through January there will be no Sports Days prices because of high season. So prices are going up to 1,300 Thb. for 18 holes of golf and caddy. They have stated this in the past but it’s has never  happen. I’ll keep everyone informed of the situation in the next week or so.

STABLEFORD

A Captains dream happened today @ Mae Jo. Exactly 20 members showed up after a rainy final Loy Kratong evening to form 5 fourballs under lift, clean and place conditions.

The birdie hole (#12) went unclaimed for its’ last day. #2 will be December’s designated hole.

Also, we say goodbye for the next several weeks to Larry Richard as he goes out to make a buck and we welcome back Adam Jackson from his Vietnam tour.

Speaking of Larry, he also took 3rd place today with 36 points.

Finishing 2nd with a score that would normally take 1st, was Ken Nalder with 39 points. In fact, I handed him the 1st place prize mistakenly.

But after wresting the money from Ken’s hands, I was able to give the proper prize to today’s winner with 40 points, Jim Hopkins!!

Well done guys and to all, have a great week end.

*****December’s events will be posted tomorrow but don’t forget, we go to our high season start time of 7:00 a.m. next Wednesday!!!*****

STABLEFORD NASSAU

28 members and 2 guests joined the gang at Mae Jo today for the above referenced comp under cool clear skies to start the day. Almost jumper weather, boys.

One last try at making a 3 at #12 on Friday as no one accomplished it again today.

So going out with a bang and winning the front with 19 points was Paul Wilson who is taking his family on the last leg of their 2 year travel gig to Bali. Hope to see Paul back with us next June. Safe travels the rest of the way!

Tying for honors on the back side with very respectable 22’s were Kuzie and yours’ truly.

Winning the overall was young Master Schwarz (Silvan) with a fine 39 total.

See you for the month end final on Friday and don’t forget, we go to 7 a.m. start times next Wednesday, December 2nd. Weekly events will be up this week end!!! I promise!

Lanna, 23.11.15

Once again another fine day for golfing at Lanna a little breezy but that was nice too. we had good numbers at Lanna with the snow birds coming back to CM to roost for a few months. Todays competition was two person team Stableford Competition. Out of the eight team only three didn’t make it in the forties for points. I guess to many trees got in the way.  As always we had a tie this time it was for third place between the team of Kim Stogne and  Gordon Langtry with 41 points  and the other team  that had 41 points was Gary Lyon and Mark Morris. Kim and Gordon won out on count back to take third place.  Second place went to Allen Norris and Paul Wilson with 43 points.  First place at 46 points went to Gary Burke and Jack Kuzina . Congratulation to our winner. Next week at Lanna it’ll be back to just plane old Stableford Competition.

STABLEFORD

On my way to Mae Jo this morning I spotted a car behind me at the 1001 traffic light that I took to be Wednesday’s birdie hole winner, Nigel Stubbs, when lo and behold it was Jimmy Catterson doing his best Stubby impression. Arriving at Mae Jo a few minutes later I realized my error and presented Nigel with his well deserved monetary prize.

Anyway, it was a beautiful morning for golf and 22 members and 3 guests posted for today’s Stableford comp. Nigel’s Wednesday birdie was not duplicated so the pot regrows for next Wednesday.

Tying for 3rd place today with 33 points was Michael Kuzmich, Graham Adams and Pranee Buckley (not pictured).

Splitting 1st place with 37 points was the red hot Jomo MacDermott and Nigel Stubbs.

Have a great week end and I promise that Tuesday’s away game report will be posted after I receive my hush money. You know who you are!!!!

Cheers.

Mae Jo, 18.11.15

Even though we had the Away Game just yesterday in Chiang Rai and some members are still up there (cleaning up), 16 Members arrived to nice cool temperatures at Mae Jo this morning for a 2 man Best Ball Stableford competition. We all started of Hole # 1 and everyone made it around in less than 4 hours. The mood was really good at the nineteenth hole.

We had a Birdie on Hole # 12 recorded by Nigel Stubbs (since the Captain was absence the money can only be claimed by Friday, otherwise will be forfeited).

The runner up Team with a commendable 41 Stableford points were Larry Richard & Ric Cameron and the Winners who were obviously Hamming and Egging the best were Chris Kendall & Yung Beece with 47 Stableford points.

Some voiced the idea to establish a new rule that regardless of the winning points at this format, the winning team should be cut 4 Strokes each of their Handicap just because…..

The AGM is near and I reminded everyone that now is the time to send in any motions for consideration by the members at the AGM. We are waiting….

Congratulations to all Winners, see you on Friday for a Stableford competition.

 Lanna, 16.11.15

Another fine day for golfing at Lanna and the number of golfer was good too in spite of the away tournament in Chiang Rai. It was Stableford Nassau competition and the scoring was good. As always as it seems we had a tie on the front nine at 19 points between Keith Freeman and Gary Lyon. Gary won out on count back to take the front nine. The back nine went to Shannon Livingston with 22 points We won’t talk about the front nine he had other than it just took him some time to get going. Total overall points for the round went to Paul Wilson who had a very good round that totaled him 41 points. Congratulation to our winners.

Where in the hell is Geoff Garret’s scorecard and what group is he playing with??? 23 of the 24 players who came out to Mae Jo were ready to play off #1 and #10 tees but one card went missing and even your captain was searching hi and lo when lo and behold he was in my group!!!!!!! Fire the bum. You guys just won’t take the proper action after screw up after screw up. I guess you get what you pay for!!

So anyway, the rounds were actually started promptly at 8 and all 6 groups made it around in just under 4 hours in mostly pleasant conditions.

No birdies on November’s designated hole#12 so that pot will grow for next Wednesday’s 2 man event.

Tying for 3rd place with respectable 34’s were Nigel Stubbs and Graham Adams.

Finishing 2nd alone with 36 points was John Noyes ( Has set of left handed Taylor Made clubs, only hit from the wrong side and priced to sell ).

Taking the comp in 1st place was former 16 handicapper, Larry Richard, with 40 points.

Congratulations to all the winners and hope to see most of you Tuesday at Santiburi for this month’s away game.

Have a great week end!

Mae Jo, 11.11.15

Today we had a pretty nice turnout, 21 members and two guests. A special welcome to Peter Jones who came all the way from Vientiane to join us! Just consider a membership Peter, it’s only 1000 Baht entrance with a yearly contribution of 400. Frank mentioned a life time membership of only 1,000,000 Baht! You would be the first, don’t be shy.

Under a covered sky we started off with 3 groups of the 1 tee and 3 groups teeing off the # 10th. Unfortunately Don Bishop was in the first group teeing off ten. They finally showed up at the caddy shack 2 hours after the guys teeing off from 1.

The format was Stroke play net. Only 1 member played to his full handicap with a net score of 72, the highly esteemed Kuzie who is now on top of the Player of the Year list 2016 !! Tied for second came in Nigel Stubbs and Richard Brown each with 74 net. Hardly worth mentioning but okay, Jeff Croswaithe and Larry Richard came in third with 75. Welcome Richard, good to have you back again!!!

See you all at Friday 13th!!! for a round of Stableford.

Lanna, 09.11.15

The numbers were up at Lanna this morning and the weather was great for golfing too. It got little warm as the morning worn on but  overall it was very nice. The competition for the morning was just plain old Stableford and once again Lanna proved it not that easy of a golf course  Even with the course in good shape the scoring was on the low side which at times isn’t all that uncommand at Lanna.  Once again we has a tie for third place between Mark Morris and Barry O at 31 points.  Mark won out on countback to take third place, Kim Stogner continued his winning way from last week at Inthanon to take second place with 32 points.  Like I said the scoring was on the low side for 33 points was all it took to take first place by me (Allan Gariano) wonders will never cease. Congratulation to our winners.

We welcome back one of our snow birds from Canada Gary Burke and we also welcomed one of our new members to Lanna Paul Wilson. Good to see you both.

STABLEFORD

26 players came out to Mae Jo for today’s Stableford Comp. including new member, Paul Wilson. Even a few of the Lao DGA-Pissheads contingent made it out after 6 days of burning the candle at both ends in Vientiane. Some even beat Harry & I to the check in table before 7.

Scoring was on the low side as a result.

Tying for 3rd place with 33 points was Robert Green & Tom Berger ( Sorry about the card, Tom. See above. )

Taking 2nd alone with a masterfully managed 35 points and remaining a 19 handicap was Chris Kendall.

And all alone in 1st with 37 points was Christian Friis!

Well done, gentlemen and congratulations!

Hope to see everyone tomorrow @ the Maeping Imperial for the 2015 awards dinner.

Cheers!

Lanna, 02.11.15

On a beautiful day for golfing the Lanna group headed out for the usual first of the month  Stroke Competition starting on course 3 and ending on course 1. Scoring was good once more even with some golfers in the double digits on a few holes. Ralph Hamilton once again had a good gross round of golf to take third place with a gross 98 that netted him a net 75. John Noyes who just came back to sunny CM came in at second with a gross 87 that netted him a 74. Even with a double digit hole couldn’t stop Allen Norris from taking first place with a good gross round of 89 that netted him a 69. Congratulation to the winners.

Next week at Lanna we’ll be back to Stableford Competition on the regular 1 & 2 course, so come on out.

After a couple of last minute arrivals today at Mae Jo we had an even 32 players post including 3 guests.

I would also like to welcome back to the fold Jim Hopkins, John Noyes ( who actually returned about 10 days ago ) and Ronnie Hill. Welcome back, gentlemen.

With one round left in October, no one birdied #8 so the pot continues to grow. Remember #12 is the designated hole for November.

Pretty good scoring overall today and finishing in 3rd alone was Steve Borge with 37 points.

Taking 2nd with a strong 39 points was Tom Berger. And finding the winner’s circle in the first POY event @ Mae Jo for 20d15-16 was Chris Kendall with 41 points.

Congratulations Guys!

Lanna,  26.10.15

Another fine day of golf at Lanna for some Stableford Nassau Competition. Everyone completed their round of golf in about four hours. Sorry to say the scoring wasn’t all that good. The front nine was taken by Gary Lyon with just 16 points, that’s right 16 points. The back nine was a little better with Peter Brown taking it with 20 points only because he lost out to Lawrence Nahlik on count back for the overall total high points when they both tried at 33 points. By the way Lawrence had 23 points on the back nine but can only win one segment of the competition. Congratulations to our winners. Next week at Lanna it’ll be stroke competition on courses 3 & 1.

Another fine day for golfing at Lanna, a little warm but that was okay compared to last Monday. Some good scores for the Stableford Competition today. A tie at 31 points between the old skipper Gary Lyon and Lawrence Nahlik. Gary won out on count back to take second leaving Lawrence all alone in third. We had another tie for first place between Ralph Hamilton and Prajat Bacchi. Prajat won out on count back to take first place but was not in the money competition so Ralph took home the first place money. Congratulation to our winners and see you all next week at Lanna.

STUBBY’S STABLEFORD

14 members came out for Friday’s post Gassan Khutan for the season’s final Stubby comp. and wouldn’t you know it, the event’s brain child, Nigel Stubbs came in 1st place with 40 points. Unfortunately for him, 2 grinders tied his total. Clavin Davis and Chris Kendall rained on Nigel’s parade and shared the pot equally. Well done, gentlemen!

The birdie pool continues to grow again as no one made 3 on #8.

Again no photo as the captain was paying more attention to his Leo consumption than to his photo journal duties! I say dump the bum!!!

See you at Mae Jo for round three of the annual tournament. Also, please be advised there is no play this upcoming Friday as the final round(4) of the Annual is at Inthanon.

Weekly events calendar will be updated Tuesday for month’s end and November.

Cheers!

INDIVIDUAL STROKE PLAY NET

14 members and 3 guests, Dusit, Bart & Barry came out for today’s comp although only 10 scores were posted as 4 players thought today’s format was match play. Please check the website’s weekly events calendar to avoid any confusion even though no one has accused me of heving a shrinking violet voice in the staging area prior to play!!

Coming in 2nd place with a not so strong 76 was Silvan Schwarz and with a 1 over par net 73, today’s winner was Chris Kendall with 73 despite an 8 on #18. Just ask him!

The birdie pool for #8 continues to grow again as no one threatened to make 3 there today.

See you tomorrow at Gassan Khutan for the 2nd round of the annual tournament and perhaps Friday @ Mae Jo for Stubby’s Stableford ( one stoke added to handicap per club removed ).

STABLEFORD NASSAU

#8 survived it’s 1st day renewal as 27 players came out to Mae Jo this Friday including new member, Paul Wilson, who will be joining us for the next several weeks before continuing his travels with his wife and three year old daughter. Welcome, Paul!

Who says Nassau comps aren’t interesting at the very least?????

Tying for front nine honors with 19 points were Chris Kendall and Adam Jackson. Tying the back nine with 20 points was Lennart Larsson and Soren Nielson with 20 points.

And the we had a 3 way tie for the overall with Adam, Soren & Chris posting 38 points. All prizes were quickly distributed to protect the innocent as poor Jack Kuzina posted 37 points overall and 18 and 19 respectively per side and got bupkus!!

Enjoy the rest of your week ends and good luck to all who are participating in the upcoming annual tournament events!

Individual Stroke play available Wednesday for you gluttons for punishment.

Cheers!

STABLEFORD

A Captain’s dream happened yesterday at Mae Jo as 28 players showed up forming 7 foursomes. Keep up the good work, boys!

BIRDIE ALERT- #8 GRAHAM ADAMS, DRIVER, WEDGE, 6 FOOT PUTT. POT STARTS OVER TOMORROW! CONGRATS, GRAHAM!

Tying for 3rd place with very respectable 36 point performances were Jack Kuzina and Richard Brown.

And again making some serious noise was Soren Nielson with 39 points, good for 2nd place alone.

Most days that 39 point effort would take 1st place, however, in one of the most dramatic drops in Handicap Indexes in CMSG history from 28.2 to 24.7 with 43 points was Iowa’s own, Curtis Nickel. Well done, Curtis!!

Come on out tomorrow morning for a Stableford Nassau format and the last tune up before next week’s Annual Tournament.

Lanna, 05.10.15

On a very nice morning for golf 18 CMSG leaded out at Lanna for a nice round of stroke competition. We had some late shows but we manage to fit them in and we all got teed off on time. Lets remember golfers you most be checked in by 8:00. But it would be a lot better to be there by 7:50 just to make it a lot easier on the old Captain and the golfers that get there on time.

Scoring was good once more. The Old Captain Gary Lyon showed us that Lanna isn’t all that hard came in with a nice 71 to take first place in the money competition. Steve Bjorge was close behind with a net 72 to take second place. Ralph Hamilton came in third with a net 74. Congratulation to our winners.

Next week at Lanna will be the first round of the CMSG Annual Tournament. First tee time is at 8:12 so be at Lanna early so we can start on time.

2 MAN BEST BALL NET

Finally have the Fiber Optic 30 Meg Wifi installed here in my new home at Village Chonlada as I write this report late Saturday evening. ( Ric C.!!)

25 then 26 then 25 again players came out Friday for Harry’s 2 Man Best Ball comp. Poor Calvin, he’s left off the list then added back. Doesn’t

deserve such anonymity as he is always at the ready to fill in for missing winners ( see Wednesday’s match report ).

Anyway, back to the actual match report. The weather was most pleasant as cloud cover was in the works for most of the round and perhaps the

mostly strong scoring could be attributed to it.

Tying for 2nd place with net 63’s were the teams of  ever ready Calvin Davis and Michael Kuzmich and Craig Morriss and Joop Schuilmanns.

1st place went to the power house duo of Jack Kuzina and Nigel Stubbs with net 62.

Enjoy the rest of your week end and hope to see you at Mae Jo next Wednesday where the birdie pool for #8 will be 1100 baht!!
