Lanna vs Mae Jo Challenge, 28.09.16
Finally we got underway after having to postpone 2 weeks due to rain. It proved to be the right decision as we all enjoyed glorious sunshine and dry conditions and the course presented well.
The day was not without problems, there were 2 non-starters [best wishes to a hospitalised Kim Anderson and I hope Gary Cooke solved his loss of wallet and credit cards.]
Nearest the Pins were claimed by Graham Adams, Leon Smiler, Garry Walker and Lennart Larssen. Men’s longest Drive was a whopping 246 yards by Kieran Savage and Saranee Livingston was the Ladies’ winner.
I apologise if it seemed shambolic before the awards but all scores were needed and it was almost six hours from start to finish before the last team made it in. Thanks to all who assisted in making the event, including Jack Kuzina, Ashley Kim Sing, and a special thanks to an invaluable Keith Freeman.
Lanna won this years Challenge.
EVENT HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED FOR SEPTEMBER 28th, 2016 @ 09:10 am
We will hold our 2nd Annual “Lanna / Mae Jo Challenge” at the Inthanon golf course on Wednesday September 28, 2016 @09:10 am.
The format for this event will be 2-Ball Better Ball Stableford.
- Each 4-some will consist of 2 teams of two players – one team for Lanna and one team for Mae Jo.
- Each player will play each hole and note his/her own Stableford score on a personal Inthanon scorecard.
- Each 2-person team will use the highest score of the pair as their team score for the hole.
- The winner of the hole will be either Lanna or Mae Jo (whichever team has the highest score), or a draw if the scores are equal
- One member of each 4-some will have a Challenge Event Scorecard on which the result for each hole must be recorded (“L” for Lanna, “M” for Mae Jo, or left blank if a draw).
- After 18 holes each group must total the holes won by each team, sign for each team, and submit the scorecard.
- All the individual team scores from the Lanna team and the Mae Jo team will be added up
- The Winner will be based on the team with the highest combined holes won!
- There will be individual prizes for nearest the pins, longest drive and a birdie hole.
- The scorecards will have instructions and prize details on them.
Price:
- Non Members of Inthanon: 1.400-baht (includes Green Fee, Caddy & a shared cart, incl. Set Menu Lunch)
- Members of Inthanon: 1.000-baht (includes Green Fee, Caddy & a shared cart, incl. Set Menu Lunch) must have members card!
- Mandatory 100-baht entrance fee per player (for prizes and awards)
- All men play off the white tees / only females allowed to play off the forward/red tees
- Tee-off: Wednesday 14.09.16 @ 9:00 am
Please plan to arrive at Inthanon Golf by 8:00 am on September 14, 2016 to enable payment of golf fees, registration and collection of scorecards.
The Event Scorecard will be given to the first member of each 4-some to arrive. We are planning that 5 groups of 4 will play off Tee #1 and 5 groups of 4 off Tee#10.
