Gymkhana 31.10.2019

There were 14 members and 2 guests (2 potential new members) enjoying our nine hole competition at Gymkhana today. In third equal were Ian Carr and Noi Taylor, each with 36 points. In second place was Nigel Jones with 37 points, but our winner today was Inthira (Goy) Patterson with an excellent 38 points. Hope to see you all next week.

31.10.2019 – Stableford Gymkhana

8 members for todays round played in cooler conditions, heavy overnight rain had a few of the bunkers under GUR and there was plenty of debris around due to the storm last night. Stuart Duncan was our winner today with 35 points, 2nd with 32 points was Kuzie

10 members today, plenty of rain overnight but course still very good. Second today with 34 points was Randy Teisl and our winner was Leon Smiler with 36 points. Well done and see you all at the Annual Dinner Saturday night.

8 members for today’s stableford on courses 3 and 1, our last visit to course 3 until March next year. The second group again finished 1 hour behind the first one. Please give some careful consideration to the pace of play and keep up with the group in front in accordance with the etiquette. No takers for the birdie hole. Tied for second were John Noyes and Keith Taylor with 38 points. Today’s winner with a great 41 points was Lawrence Nahlik. Well done all.

28.10.2019 – Stableford Lanna 3-1


North Hill, 28.10.19

There were 7 members in the Stableford Event today in rather humid conditions.  They couldn’t come up with a win in the Rugby but the Kiwi’s came out on top at golf today.  The winner was Don Bishop with 37 points and runner-up was Leon Smiler with 34 points.  Well done one and all.

6 members braved the heat today, we started on number 10 to avoid waiting for groups in front of us. Our winner today was Jack Kuzina with 38 points, 2nd was Stuart Duncan with 35 points

North Hill, 25.10.19

16 members and 1 guest for today’s stableford round in great conditions, although there was some light rain for a couple of holes the cloud cover was welcome. The birdie hole was taken by Yung Beece on week 3. Tied for second were Don Bishop and Nigel Stubbs on 35 points. Today’s winner was Tom Berger with 36 points. Well done all. Here’s hoping Garry will get off the beach to run next weeks event!!

Maejo: 25.10.19

Great conditions for todays round, overcast skies and a nice breeze made for a pleasant round. 9 members got away to an early start, our winner today was Mike Roycroft with 36 points, 2nd was Jack Kuzina on 34 points and coming home 3rd was Heinz Olschner with 33 points. The ladys are absent at the moment, most likely they are all playing 9 holes at Gymkhana

Today we had 15 players including 1 guest playing at Gymkhana, where the greens are apparently now superior to those at Maejo. Tom Berger took out the Birdie Hole (#2) that has been accumulating for a while. There was a 3-way tie for 2nd place (36 points) between Allan Gariano, Goy Patterson, and Keith Freeman. First place went to Nigel Jones with 38 points. See you all next week.

Maejo: 23.10.19

12 members today for our stableford round, strong sun and no breeze made for another hot day. Our winner today with 34 points was Mike Roycroft, 2nd equal were Jack Kuzina and Rob Grootenhuijs with 33 points.

We now have 13 confirmed members and 2 guests for the Chiang Rai cup, i have 5 tee times booked for both rounds so if you are interested get in quick

There were only 5 members today, maybe a hangover from the annual tournament. Second today was Denise Reynolds with 29 points and our winner was Julian Wing with 33 points. Well done hope to see more here next week.

There were 7 members in today’s Stableford event.  The winner was Roland Feraud with 32 points and the runner-up was Takao Nishimura with 31 points. Thank you Leon for taking over for me today while I enjoy a break at the beach.

6 members for todays stableford round played under sunny skies and hot conditions. It was an all Dutch affair today with John De Jong coming home 1st with 35 points, 2nd with 34 points was Rob Grootenhuijs

8 members and 1 guest for today’s stableford on courses 1 and 2. Welcome Mr B, and welcome back Allan Gariano and Ted Taylor. No takers for the birdie hole which rolls over to course 3 next week. I have to say that the course is in the best condition I have ever seen, and there is a bit of run again for us short hitters! In third with 31 points was John Noyes. In second was Lawrence Nahlik with 34 points. Today’s winner, two weeks too late!, was Nigel Stubbs with 35 points. Well done all.

21.10.2019 – Stableford Lanna 1+2


North Hill, 18.09.19 Annual Tournament 4th and final round.

There were 33  members for our final round of the CMSG Annual Tournament. First 4 members in each flight played together and the rest of the draw was random. Warm sunny conditions with the course in excellent conditions and fairly fast true greens. Thank you to North Hill Management for a great buffet lunch, cold towels for everyone walking off the course and for donating golf caps for nearest the hole and closest to the beer box on the 18th which was won by Mike Roycroft at 7′ 8″. Nearest the pins. Kenny Jones on the second at 9 and a half inches! Yung Beece on the 4th hole at 30′. Nigel Stubbs on the 14th hole at 8′ 9″. Noi Taylor on the 17th hole at 5′ 5″. Special mention to Randy Teisl for his eagle on the 12 hole, his second eagle for the tournament.

Equal 3rd today with 36 points were Jomo Mac Dermott and Dao Beece. Second was Prajet Bacci with 37 points and our equal winners today with 40 points were Kenny Jones and John Noyes. Great effort and thank you to all who competed for the sportsmanship shown throughout the tournament.

Results will not be published until after the Annual Dinner and Presentations.

18.10.2019 – Stableford North Hill


Gymkhana, 17.10.19

There were 11 players for today’s nine hole competition. Tied for second were Barry Ochitwa and Noi Taylor, both with 37 points. Today’s winner though was Roger Mack with 40 points.

17.10.2019 – Stableford Gymkhana

Hariphunchai, 16.10.19

There were 30 Members today for our 3rd round of the Annual Tournament. We will not publish results except for winners for today or for the 4th round. We had a shotgun start which we thank Hariphunchai for, and everyone was finished within 4 hours and 20 minutes. Excellent by all players. We had a four way tie for second with 35 points between Bill Whitsett, Denise Reynolds, Lawrence Nahlik and Prajet Bacchi, and our run away winner on a hot streak with 39 points was Mike Roycroft. Very well done.

Nearest to the pins today, Hole 3/12 Randy Teisl 9′ 11″, Hole 7/16 Gordon Langtree 5′ 7″ and Hole 9/18 closest third shot Julian Wing 7′ 8″.

Interesting with player of the year, we now have three members within 3 points entering the last game. Good Luck Friday gentlemen.

North Hill, 14.10.19

There were 7 members in today’s Stableford event with rain before and after but thankfully not during the round.  The French connection took  the prizes today with Serge Arnaud winning with 38 points and Roland Finaud in second place with 32 points.  Well done to all.

9 members and 1 guest for todays stableford round turned up with a heavy rain storm just before play, thankfully the rain stopped and conditions were great, we were so lucky as shortly after everyone had finished the heavens opened up and the roads were flooded. Our winner today was Jack Kuzina with 35 points and in 2nd equal were Kuzie and Mike Roycroft with 33 points

14.10.2019 – Stableford Maejo

MaeJo 2nd Round Annual Tournament, 11.10.19

There were 35 members today in very warm conditions. Thanks to Dave at the 19th Hole for a complimentary buffet meal for everyone, and Chris from Blue Star for his donation of 2 bottles of Rum. These were won by Jay Jones for her first hole in 1 on the 14th hole, and Randy Teisl for his eagle on the 16th hole. Well done to both of you. We had three closest to the pins. These were won by Tim Walker on the 2nd with 6′ 8″, Milton Reynolds on the 7th with 7′ 1″ and on the 17th by Nigel Stubbs with 13′ 5″. Equal 3rd today with 32 points were Jomo MacDermott and Mike Roycroft, second was Ronny Peters with 33 points, and our runaway winner was Jay Jones with 40 points. Well done to all, thank you, and hope to see you at Hariphunchai next Wednesday for round 3.

11.10.2019 – Stableford Maejo


North Hill, 11.10.19

There were only 5 members in our Stableford event today under sunny skies.  The winner was Yung Beece with 33 points.  Well Done one and all.

Gymkhana 10.10.19

Another sunny morning at Gymkhana attracted 13 members to come and play in the 9-Hole competition. The course was still recovering from the severe storm of last Friday that tore down branches and left debris everywhere, but generally the conditions were pretty good. Today, in third place was Ram Taylor with 35 points and in second was Leon Smiler with 36 points. Today’s winner though was Tom Berger with 38 points.

10.10.2019 – Stableford Gymkhana


Maejo: 09.10.19

We had 13 members and 1 guest today, conditions were near on perfect although still hot for some. Today’s winners both on 37 points were Alex Stewart and Stuart Duncan, coming home in 3rd was Jack Kuzina with 33 points.  Friday is the 2nd round round of the annual tournament starting at 0900, the prize giving will be at the 19th hole and directions will be available to those who dont know it, i would hope most golfers will attend as Dave and Samsong are generously putting on a FREE roast buffet, there will also be prizes donated by Chris Ryan from Bluestar AMG as well as closest to the pin.

Only 6 members today for a stroke round. Hot conditions. Runner up second were Bill Whitsett and Nigel Stubbs with a nett 78 and our winner was Denise Reynolds with a nett 77. Well done and see you next week at Haripunchai for the third round of the Annual Tournament.

Lanna Course 1 + 2 Annual Tournament Round 1   07.10.19

There were 36 members for our first day of the 2019 Annual Tournament. Full random draw for all. There were 3 nearest the pins, and the winners for these were Hole 8 Peter Brown 10′ 5″, Hole 10 Bill Whitsett 3′ 8″ and hole 16 Garry Walker 4′ 7″. Three members tied for third on 36 points – Julian Wing, Leon Smiler and Ronny Peters. Two members tied for 2nd on 37 points – Jay Jones and Jomo McDermott. Our winner today was Mike Roycroft with 38 points. Well done to all. Thank you, and hope to see as many at MaeJo on Friday for round 2, which will be followed by a free buffet roast lunch at The 19th Hole.

07.10.2019 – Stableford Lanna 1+2


North Hill, 04.10.19

There were 14 members (1 DNF) in today’s Stableford Nassau event.  No takers for the new birdie hole #2 but Mr.Park scored a “Hole inOne” at the par 3 fourth hole and well done to him.  The winner today was Garry Walker with 40 points.  The front nine was won by Don Bishop with 21 points and the back nine was shared between Mr.Park, Leon Smiler & Lawrence Nahlik with 20 points each.

Today there were 10 players today in warm sunny conditions. Birdie hole number nine par five was taken out after 5 weeks by Tim Walker. First today was Bill Whitsett with 37 points and second was Milton Reynolds with 33 points. Hope to see a few getting in some practice at Hariphunchai next week to feel out the course for the following Wednesday.

We had 13 members for our stableford round today, played in great conditions. A few strange faces turned up to play with Iain Craig for his birthday round but no one got a free beer as he stated he only shouts on his actual birthday which is next Tuesday the 15th at the 19th hole at 6.00 if anyone is interested. Our joint winners today with 32 points were Kuzie and Mike Roycroft, in 3rd on 30 points was Ric Gregory
