Match Reports for November 2019

North Hill, 29.11.19

There were 24 golfers today (23 members & 1 guest) in our usual Stableford event.  All arrived in good time, Thank You. Course was expecting a large group so unfortunately all 6 groups were off the first tee.  We had one member finalizing his handicap today and we had two DNF.  There were no takers for the birdie hole.  All groups finished in good time with no holdups. The winner was Ashley Kim Sing with 43 points, in second place was Mr.Park with 37 points and in third place was Don Bishop with 36 points. Well done to all.

Note to all:  There is no free drop from the cut surrounding the greens even though in some cases it is sanded or uneven, unless marked GUR.

Maejo: 29.11.2019

9 members and 1 guest today played in once again perfect conditions, the high season is definitely upon us with 2 bus loads turning up for a 9.30 tee off, fortunately it didn’t affect us to much. Our winners today are in 1st equal were Jack Kuzina and Kuzie with 34 points, 3rd with 30 points was Mike Roycroft

Gymkhana: 28.11.2019

17 players, 16 members plus one guest, took part in today’s 9 hole competition, and this time the ladies didn’t win! The honours were taken by Al Gariano with 38 points, well done Al! In second and third Pranee 37 points from a 12 handicap, and Prasong 36 points were flying the flag for the ladies.

Maejo: 27.11.2019

Perfect conditions today with the course getting better every week, the new greens and upgrades have come a long way in the relatively short time the new green keeper has been there. The winners today are in 1st place with 40 points was Mike Roycroft, 2nd on 34 points was Kuzie and tied for 3rd were Rob Grootenhuijs and Alex Stewart with 33 points

Only three members today, affected by Gymkhana today I think. Winner was Denise Reynolds with 33 points. Hope to see more of you next week.

Lanna, 25.11.19

12 members for today’s stableford event in perfect golfing conditions. The long standing birdie hole was taken by Nigel Stubbs. In 3rd place with 31 points was Nigel Stubbs, 2nd was Allen Norriss with 32 points. Today’s overall winner, winning back his annual subscription was David Rickard with 35 points. Well done all.

North Hill, 25.11.19

There were 11 members for todays Stableford round in perfect conditions for golf.  Our greens started with a stimp meter reading of 10 but got faster as the dew evaporated and the round progressed.  The winner today was Richard Baron with 40 points, in second was Soren Neilson with 36 points and in third was Gary Cooke with 34 points.  Well done to those in form golfers.

I would also like to congratulate the CMSG golfers who took part in the “Little Man” trophy event at North Hill on Sunday.  The winner was Ralph Hamilton, runner-up was Bill Whitsett and in third was Leon Smiler, well done guys.

8 members for our round today, conditions for golf were almost perfect with most not even breaking a sweat. An early morning dew saw no run whatsoever. Todays winner with 33 points was Stuart Duncan, 2nd with 32 points was John De Jong and coming home in 3rd was Kuzie with 30 points

There were 24 golfers (21 members & 3 guests) in today’s Stableford event. A slightly earlier start in glorious weather, thank you all for arriving in good time.  No takers for the ‘birdie hole’ #6 in it’s first week.  The  winner today was Soren Nielsen with 38 points, in second was Richard Baron with 37 points and in third was Curtis Nickel with 36 points.  Well done to one and all and we should be back to normal time next week but check the schedule on the website as things are subject to change during the high season.

22.11.2019 – Stableford North Hill

8 members and 1 guest for our round today. Conditions were reasonably cool to start with but it soon warmed up. Today’s winners are, in 1st place with 37 points was Stuart Duncan, 2nd equal were Alex Stuart and David Rickard with 30 points.

Twelve members, including one completing his third card for handicap purposes entered today’s 9 hole competition. Once again it was ladies’ day but this time Noi Taylor was the victress with 40 points, followed by Joy Gariano on 37. Ted Taylor was the leading male in third place with 35 points. Well done all

Chiang Rai Cup Waterford 20.11.19

14 members and 3 guests for the last round today and conditions were perfect. Thanks to everyone for turning up early. Some more great scores posted today, notably Michael Carr shot 2 under par, 42 stableford points and then took himself out of the money, lucky for those who were left. Our winners today are in 1st place with 38 points was David Rickard, Cheryl Sutherland and Adam Jackson were next with 37 points and coming home in 4th was Nok with 36 points. The overall results are in 3rd spot with 69 points was Lamyai Prasam, next were Serge Arnaud and Mike Roycroft with 70 points and our overall and deserved winner with 79 points was Adam Jackson. Hariphunchai 20.11.2019

Numbers were depleted today due to the Chiang Rai cup, but we still had seven members enjoying a great round of golf on a pristine course. Unfortunately, the scoring did not match the enjoyment, with not a single member reaching their respective buffer zones. In second today was Julian Wing with 30 points and our winner was Jack Cooper with a stupendous…..wait for it 32 points!

Chiang Rai Cup: Santiburi 18.11.19

 

14 members and 3 guests for our round at Santiburi today. Everyone turned up nice and early and we got away 15 minutes earlier than expected. The course wasn’t up to its usual high standard, the weather thou was perfect with a nice breeze at times. There were some great scores posted by some, 1 of our guests Michael Carr shot even parr with a 4 handicap and Adam Jackson shot 74 gross with his 8 handicap. I wont post all the scores today until after the event is finished. Our Winner today with a great score of 44 points was Serge Arnaud, 2nd with 42 points was Adam Jackson and 4th equal were Milton Reynolds and Michael Carr with 40 points

North Hill, 18.11.19

There were 9 members for today’s Stableford event in great conditions for golf on a fantastic course.  The winner was Richard Baron with 40 points and in equal second were Mr.Park and Garry Walker with 34 points each.

Lanna 1 & 2, 18.11.19

There were 10 members and one guest today. Birdie hole 16 did not go off and will be frozen at 1000 baht. A new hole will be started next week. Nassau today and winner of the first nine was Kim Strogner with 17 points and the second nine was Allen Norris with 18 points. Our winner with 35 points was Ted Taylor. Well done all.

North Hill, 15.11.19

There were 28 golfers (20 members & 8 guests) in todays Stableford event. One member submitting last card for handicap, well done Garry Taylor and there was one DNF.  All 7 groups finished in good time, thank you.  Lovely golfing weather even if a little humid for some.  The ‘birdie hole’ #4 was taken out after three weeks by Staffan Hallberg.  The winner today  with 46 points was Lawrence Nahlik and in second place was Leon Smiler with 37 points.  In equal third were Staffan Hallberg, Yung Beece & Gary Cooke.  Well done to one and all.

**** Please note:  Next Friday we will be teeing off earlier at 8am from both tees due to the fact that a tour tournament is due to tee off at 10am ****

Only 5 members for today’s stableford round, 1 however didn’t finish. The course was still a little wet from the recent rain. Our winner today with 33 points was Jack Kuzina, Rob Grootenhuijs took out the second spot with 28 points. 

 


Gymkhana, 14.11.2019

13 Members, including two members presently establishing their handicaps, took part in today’s nine hole competition. Scoring was moderate with two  exceptions, our winner and Garry Taylor who was establishing his handicap. Garry, it is not a good idea to shoot one of your best rounds whilst establishing your handicap! In equal second place were Ian Carr and Ted Taylor with 33 points but our run away winner was Inthira (Goy) Patterson with a splendid 40 points. Goy is presently shooting up our Player of The Year leaderboard and to date is our leading lady having scored 40 POY points in just 4 rounds.

There were 11 members playing in great golfing weather, and the course once again was immaculate. Scores today were pretty mixed. In third was  Christian Friis with 31 points. In second was Randy Teisl with 35 points but the honours today went to Julian Wing with 40 points. Hope to see you all again next week.

North Hill, 11.11.19

There were 13 golfers (11 members & 2 guests) in todays Stableford round.  Welcome back Staphan and Curtis.  Today’s winner was Soren Neilson with 35 points and the runner-up was Leon Smiler with 34 points.  Well Done.  It was noticed today that the OB markers have been removed from holes 3, 7 & 15 and the Staff have advised us that in setting up for their weekend competitions these were considered unfair by the organizers.  The Staff will advise us prior to Friday’s game if this is to be a permanent arrangement.

There were 11 members and two guests today in perfect golfing weather. Second today was Kim Strogner with 34 points and our winner was Denise Reynolds with 36 points. Well done all and see you next week.

There were 25 golfers (20 members and 5 guests) and 1 DNF in a Stableford event under cloudy skies threatening rain.  Considering it rained for 12 hours prior to our round we consider ourselves lucky to have a rain free round today.  The winner today was Yung Beece with 38 points and in equal second place were Leon Smiler and Denise Reynolds with 35 points each.  We also presented Mr.Park with his ‘Hole in One’ trophy from last year as he was not at the Annual Party.

Gymkhana, 07.11.2019

There were 21 golfers (17 members and 4 guests) enjoying great golfing weather, for our regular 9 hole competition. We had joint winners today, Ted Taylor and Barry Ochitwa, both with an impressive 38 points. In third place, just pipped at the post, was Ian Carr with 37 points. We look forward to seeing everybody again next week.

A perfect day golfing, the weather wasn’t too hot and the course is getting better every day. We had 11 members and 3 guests today, a big welcome to Don Bishop who we haven’t seen for quite a while and Simon Purser who is on holiday from down under. Our winner today with a fantastic score of 43 points was John Noyes, well done, 2nd with 37 points was Iain Craig and Kuzie took out 3rd with 35 points. A few of us are off to Laos tomorrow to play in the annual Pisshead competion so there will be no formal games until next Wednesday, we still have tee times for 0800 for those of you who wish to play

Only six members today on a perfect golfing day. Scores not really good, but we had equal winners on 31 points, Julian Wing and Nigel Stubbs. Julian will be looking after Hariphunchai for the next 2 weeks, thank you.

There were 10 members for today’s round under cloudy skies which only threatened rain.  One DNF today, hang in there Mark recovery is a slow process.  The winner today was Roland Feraud with 35 points, in second place was Garry Walker with 34 points and coming in third was Leon Smiler with 32 points.

Heavy rain this morning saw a delayed start of 45 minutes for the 10 members today, conditions after were great although the humidity soon arrived. The scoring today was not good, except for 1 !!!!!!. Jack Kuzina took out the honours today with a fantastic 44 points, well done, 2nd with 31 points was Rob Grootenhuijs and coming home 3rd with 29 points was John De Jong

9 members and 2 guests for today’s strokeplay event. Two going for handicap. New members Christina Tay and Garry Taylor, welcome to C.M.S.G. The next two weeks Milton will be in charge as the Captain takes a well earned break. No takers for the biride hole again. Please be aware that the advertised walking price for high season is 1,350 baht. We still have a special price of 850 baht walking, 1450 with cart. Everyone got round in very good time today despite us all having a 15 minute break for heavy rain. Today was ladies day! Tied for second were Prasong Paennoy and Noi Taylor with nett 78. Today’s winner was Joy Gariano with a nett 74. Well done all.

There were 17 members in today’s Stableford Nassau event on a wonderful day weather wise which I hope will keep up for the next four or five months.  High Season is upon us and the courses will no doubt be a bit busier so a little patience may be required by all.  The winner of the front nine was Don Bishop with 22 points and the winner of the back nine was Nigel Stubbs with 18 points.  The overall winner on the day was Leon Smiler with 39 points.  Well done and see you all tomorrow night for a drink or two.

7 members today started in cold conditions, in fact i wish i wore a jacket for the 1st 4 holes. Todays winner was Kuzie with 32 points, 2nd was Alex Stuart with 31 points. The temporary greens were gone today and the course has resumed to normal ! just in time for the anticipated high season. Hope to catch up with most of you tomorrow night
