Maejo: 30.12.19

Only 5 members today, the fog was extremely bad for the first 5 holes and visibility was at times down to 130 yards. The heavy overnight rain was a welcome relief for our gardens and no doubt would have put out some of the many fires burning around the place. Kuzie and Stuart took out 1st place today with 32 points. Wednesday we have bookings for 0800 for those who want to play. From January tee off times are 0730 with the odd exception of which i will notify in due course.

Happy new year to you all

Stuart and Kuzie

Maejo: 18.12.19

11 members graced us for todays stableford round, most of us again got around in reasonable time, not bad for this time of year. Conditions were again perfect although some heavy watering had some mud on more than a few of the balls, im not complaining thou as the new green keeper has the place going forward in leaps and bounds and if this is what is needed then so be it. Our winner today with 36 points was Mike Roycroft , 2nd was John De John on 34 points and in 3rd equal were Serge Arnaud and Randy Tesil with 31 points.  Next week, we have tee times for 0800 and there will be no formal game on xmas day so help yourselfs. North Hill, 13.12.19

There were 23 golfers today (22 members, 1 guest, 1 submitting final card for handicap) all going off the first tee in handicap order on a beautiful day with a cool start on a busy course.  A reminder to all about golf etiquette, if you are more than a hole behind the group in front, YOU NEED TO SPEED UP. Be ready to play immediately when it’s your turn, while others are playing their shot use the time to select your club, line up your shot & sort your gear, don’t wait, you should be ready to play the shot when it’s your turn. Do not get in front of play and definitely no loud cursing or throwing clubs ever.  This affects golfers playing their shots on surrounding holes not just your group.  The golfing Gods were not with the majority today but the French Flag was flying high.  The winner was Roland Feraud with 39 points, in second place was Serge Arnaud with 36 points and tied in third place were Francis Begue & Mr. Park with 34 points each.  Well done to all and remember it is high season and all the courses are busy.

Mr.Park, Roland, Francis, Serge.

Lanna, 09.12.19

13 members and 2 guests who have now joined. Welcome Sharon and Mr Park number 2, from Korea. Normally players are seeking the shade of the many trees at Lanna, today they were seeking the sun for the first four holes. No takers for the birdie hole. It would have been a fast round today apart from a Korean 5 ball, who became 6 at the turn, and had no idea of etiquette or how to play! Tied for 2nd were Kenny Jones and David Urlwin with 36 points. Today’s winner was Serge Arnoud with 37 points. Well done all.

Kenny, Serge and David.

Kuzie and Mr Park

North Hill, 06.12.19

There were 22 Members in today’s Stableford Nassau Round.  There were no takers for the Birdie Hole #6 yet again but there were lots of birdies today which was surprising in the windy conditions.  Such a pleasure to play in cool and windy conditions for most of us.  The overall winner was Roland Feraud with 39 points.  Lots of contenders for front nine with  3 tied for front, Nigel Stubbs, Leon Smiler & Don Bishop with 21 points each. On the back nine there were two tied with 20 points, Haydn Patterson & Milton Reynolds.  Well done to all.

15 members for today’s stroke play event. I have to say that Lanna is in the best condition we have ever seen. I will pass on our thanks to the Brigadier in charge.  Given the great conditions the scoring was somewhat diabolical! Tied for third, with nett 81 were Gordon Langtry and Serge Arnoud. Two players finished in the buffer zone. In second was Ted Taylor with a nett 75. Today’s overall winner was Allan Gariano with a nett 73. Well done all. No takers for the birdie hole.
