Chiang Mai Cup 2017
Format and Rules
Four Ball Match play
- In Four Ball, each side consists of two players. Each player hits his or her own golf ball throughout the round. On each hole, the low ball of the two players serves as that side’s score.
- For example, on the first hole for Team A, Player 1 scores a 4 and Player 2 scores a 5, so the team score is 4. If Team A gets a 4 while Team B scores 5, then Team A wins the hole.
- Handicaps differences apply. The handicap differences will be calculated to the lowest handicap player in this Four Ball.
- For example, Player A has a handicap of 10, Player B has a handicap of 13, Player C has a handicap of 15 and Player D has a handicap of 18. That means that Player A gets no strokes he plays of 0. Player B receives strokes on Handicap Index Hole # 1, 2 and 3. Player C receives strokes on Handicap Index Hole # 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5. Player D receives strokes on Handicap Index Hole# 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8.
In all Match play the players resolve any application of the Rules of Golf between them selves. Only in the event that a Problem cannot be resolved the Player is encouraged to play two Balls from (one from location the opponent believes it should be played and one from the location he believes is correct) and note the score for the two balls played and than the committee will make the final decision which rule applies and which Score will taken in account. The Committees decision is final and cannot be contested.
This year we will have (14) teams from each society!
