CMSG

Chiang Mai Social Golfers

Life Members

The following CMSG members have all been awarded Honorary Life Membership. They have been long-stamding members and occupied positions within the Society, and without their drive and commitment to CMSG the Society as we know it today would not have existed.

Jack Kuzina

Jack Kuzina is a long-standing member of the Society and was Club Captain at Maejo between 2011 and 2014. He was also President between 2016 and 2018. In 2020 when we were switching over to the WHS handicapping system, he took great interest and used his knowledge to assist in checking that everything was working correctly. He even at his own expense paid for an online site and sampled certain players scores to ensure the in-house version had no errors.  Respect Jack! Jack was granted Honorary Life Membership by the Committee in 2025.

Julian Wing

Julian Wing has been a part of golf in Chiangmai since 2006 where he assisted in running a group at the Gymkhana Golf Club until he joined Chiangmai Golfers in 2014 and has diligently worked on the committee since 2019. He held the positions of Secretary, Webmaster, Technical Support, Club Captain and Handicapper. He also assists other groups in Chiangmai such as Highlands, Gassan, North Hill, Mae Moh to amalgamate a single handicap system and allow integration of our members into the various competitions they run. Handicapper is without doubt a frustrating and time consuming position to hold and he has held that position since joining the committee alongside the other positions held and as stand in President as required. The club would not have survived without his support and we hope he will continue for many years to come. Julian was granted Honorary Life Membership at the AGM in 2025.

Garry Walker

Garry was one of the founding members and at its inauguration in 2004, Garry was elected Secretary. He has also held the positions of President (in 2005), Club Captain, Web-master for many years and latterly as Captain at North Hills. Garry was originally awarded Honorary Life Membership in 2009, but has been recognised for a second time in 2020 due to his exemplary service and commitment to the Society since that date.

Ric Cameron (R.I.P. Ric)

Ric was one of the founding members of the Society and he managed the fledgling society from 2002 when it was founded until 2004 when it was officially inaugurated. Ric was the “driving” force in many ways, not least by ferrying all the early members to play at various courses in his minivan. In the intervening years, Ric has also been Treasurer and Club Captain at Maejo. Ric has been awarded Honorary Life Membership in 2020.

Les Harvey (R.I.P. Les)

Les was a founding member of the Society and once it became inaugurated in 2004, Les served on the Committee for many years. He also held the position of Treasuer for a considerable time. Les was awarded Life Membership in 2009.

If anybody wishes to read more about the formation of the Society, and its early members, please click on the “History” page. It goes without saying that without these members there would be no CMSG.
