In Memoriam
It is with a heavy and remorseful heart to notify all our members the passing away of one of our long time members and close friend Mr. James Catterson. Jimmy passed away Tuesday evening due to a severe pulmonary infiltration condition. Jimmy C, as known by all of us, will be surely missed and his memory will be with us forever.
The following photos of Jimmy are indelible images of our close and dear friend!
How could you miss that perfected swing!
“All Smiles in the winner’s circle”
We will miss your Smile Jim boy!
We will all miss your dearly – Godspeed!
Note: Services will be held at the Wat “Kon Tan” that is located off highway #1260 that runs between highway 107 and 1001. From Maejo University travel north and turn left onto route 1260 and turn left on the 1st Soi after crossing over the Ping River bridge. Wat “Kon Tan” is located approximately 150 meters off the 1260 road.
The Final Chapter:
Jimmy was laid to rest on a beautiful sunny day with numerous of his golfing friends in attendance. A special thanks goes out to Graham Adams and his partner Jan for providing the Scottish bag pipe music at the end of the ceremony that resulted in a countless number of teary eyes. Jim will be missed but never forgotten.
God speed and God Bless Jim Catterson!
From the moment I met Jimmy C. he became my expat hero. The mold was certainly broken when the Good Lord created him. Rest in peace, dear friend.
I knew Jimmy from first joining CMSG over ten years ago and can honestly say he is one of the best people I have ever met, anywhere, not just Chiang Mai. Polite, Funny, Warm, Wicked ( in a nice way!) and great company at the 19th hole where we put the World to rights on many occasions. Jimmy, I will always remember and miss you my dear old friend.
A great Scotsman and a great Viking (he even joined the Scandinavian team once for the International). A naughty “boy” in the best possible way. You will be sorely missed. Rest in peace my dear friend.
The sad news of Jimmy’s passing has reached me here un NZ. Jimmy was a gentleman and Jimmy was a rascal and Jimmy is now a legend. I feel lucky to have played with him recently off the reds. He had a great sense of humour and not afraid to use his wit about himself and his health.
My thoughts are with you Jimmy from Don
Fare thee well “Young Jimmy”. Now, I am the only Jimmy left with the CMSGS, and I can never replace you. Thanks for all of the good times — golf, evenings in Chiang Rai, and long lunches at the CaddyShack.
“Young Jimmy” will always be a legendary member of the CMSGs. See you Jimmy!!
“Old Jimmy” Hopkins.
