Match Report August 2018

North Hill, 31.08.18

There were 24 in today’s Stableford round, 23 members and one guest from Singapore Jeff, one member going for handicap Mitch and one not in the the prize competition.  Course is still holding up very well with some minor repairs around the perimeter of some greens.  No takers for the birdie hole #6 but there were plenty of birdies scored on the day especially by today’s winner Nigel Stubbs (5 birdies) coming home with 40 points, a great round and a worthy winner.  Second place was tied on 36 points between Tayakorn Butler, Yung Beece and Lawrence Nahlik.  Thank You to all concerned for a great day enjoyed by all.

          Lawrence, Tayakorn, Nigel, Yung

Inthanon, 30.08.18 (Yellow Ball August 2018 Away Match)

For this month’s away game we had (5) teams (20 members) teeing it up at Inthanon for a interesting and somewhat frustrating at times a “Yellow Ball” competition.   Relative to the course you could not beat the price of 500 baht including shared cart!  Also the fairways and greens were in very good condition but the bunkers needed a little work as some had grass growing in them.  As a side note the prices for food and beer were on the high side and it was noted that the locker rooms needed a good cleaning.  Regardless, all in all, it was a fun day!

Relative to the results:

  • First Place:  Team of Kenny, Jay, Lamyai, & Serge                                    Total Net Score  128
  • Second Place we had a tie with a net score of 129 each
    • Team of Gary, Ric, Jack C, & Leon
    • Team of Mr. Park, Roscoe, Oil & Tayakorn

We also had a drawing for (3) travel bags that were won by:

  • Lawrence, Jack C, & Leon

Today’s Happy Winners:  Jay, Kenny, Serge, Lamyai

In closing we look forward to all our members playing in the September 2018 away match.  Time, place & date to be announced once we receive pricing!

North Hill, 13.08.18

There were 8 members in today’s Stableford round under cloudy skies with light breezes, pleasant and enjoyable round of golf.  Ladies choice for the random draw.  Some good scores and 8 birdies on the day with the majority on the supposed hardest back nine.  The winners were Leon Smiler with 37 points and Camilla Dwyer with 35 points.  Come on guys we need some new blood at Monday golf to depose these regular winners.  For those contemplating going to Hariphunchai on Wednesday the good news is that they have cut the rough.  Keep them straight and on the fairway, no problems, we should all be so lucky.
