52 Members made their way out to the Doi Inthanon Golf Course to play for the “International” Trophy in a 4 player Texas Scramble format. With few exceptions all members arrived in time and the Tournament started as scheduled at 08:30 hours on Tee # 1 and Tee # 10. It was sunny, very smokey and hot. But the Course was in great shape, the Pin placements where is rather tough positions and the reason was that the day before a Chang Amateur Event was held on the course.
All 13 teams made their way around in an acceptable time, we can certainly see that the high season is coming to an end and soon we have the Golf Courses to ourself again.
After the round everyone seemed to enjoy the day and a lot of laughs could be heard and of course the tails of what would have happened if I would have made that Putt or that chip. All in all the Scoring was very good, with the exception of the Winning team 12 teams posted scores with only 4 strokes a part.
We again want to extend our Happy Birthday Wishes to Ram Taylor.
We had on all par 3 Holes a price for Closest to the Pin and the Winner are:
Hole # 4: Jerry Buckley 19′ 3″
Hole # 7: Robbo 5′ 1″
Hole # 12: Ted Taylor 9′ 5″
Hole # 16: Mike Reeve 7′ 5″
The Results:
In third place Winners were the “Australian” Team (Garry Walker, Dave Robertson, Graham Best, Ric Cameron) with a net 61. In second place in a three way tie, Team “Thailand” (Pranee Buckley, Ram Taylor, Doi Beece, Prajat Bacci), Team “Netherlands” (Harry Nieuwland, Bartho Postma, Joop Schillemans, Anton Buys) and Team “Outcasts” (Frank Schwarz, Corky Wood, Yui Schwarz, Ben Faipong) with a net of 60.
The Winning Team “Multi National” (Mike Reeve, Mike Mason, Dizzy Reeve, John Barrett) came in with a net 56.
