Chiang Rai Cup, 28.11.18

We completed the final round of the Chiang Mai Cup at Waterford golf course or otherwise recognized as “The Augusta of the North”.   Similar to the weather the last few days in the Chiang Mai area it was ideal for playing golf as we had low humidity coupled with cool breezes under sunny skies.  When we arrived at Waterford we were pleasantly surprised that there was no one at the course resulting in all our groups completing their respective round in 3 1/2 hours.   The condition of the course was excellent even with the greens being on the sandy side.

The results of the 2nd leg at Waterford were:

  • Mike Roycroft              41 points
  • Nok Chumarom           40 points
  • Don Bishop                   35 points
  • Jack Kuzina                  35 points

Based on the (2) days results from Santiburi and Waterford the winner of the Chiang Mai Cup was Mike Roycroft with a (2) round total of an impressive (80) points ( 39 at Santiburi and 41 at Waterford.

The runner-up was Nok Chumarom with (68)  followed by Rob Grootenhuijs and Don Bishop both posting total scores of (65) points.
