Chiang Mai Cup 2016

On this Thursday, June 16, 2016 all 48 players arrived in time for the group picture and in good spirits. Some discussion regarding the Handicaps and how this format works happened prior to the Tee Off, but all sorted out and we started as scheduled on Tee # 1 and # 10 with 6 groups playing on each side of the Golf Course. The weather was just gorgeous with slight overcast, some sunshine and a light breeze. A Golf Course in perfect conditions considering the rainfall from last night. When we teed off all greens were cut. With the exception of some Bunkers the Royal Chiang Mai Golf Course was in great conditions.

As expected and as it should be everyone who came in after the round was in good spirits and it was obvious that players had enjoyed their round. We appreciated the sportsmanship shown by the Sanuk Sabai Social Golfers players and the spirit in which the competition was played.

We had 3 special prices, Hole # 4 for the longest Drive and the Winner was Bradley McDonald, on Hole # 6 for closest to the Pin, the Winner was Rob Kelly and on Hole # 17 closest to the Pin, the Winner was Silvan Schwarz.

As to the outcome, the CMSG won with 20 points vs. 16 points over the SSSG.

Additionally Jack Cooper had a Hole in One on the Par 3 Hole # 3

The Committee thanks all CMSG players for an outstanding performance and we are looking forward to defend the Cup in 2017. We also want to thank the staff from the Royal Chiang Mai Golf Resort for their hospitality and great Service.
